Happy 6 month birthday!

On February 30th my little blog will be six months old!

"But Erin!  February 30th doesn't even exist!  Stop being crazy."

You caught me!  But let's pretend like February 30th is a thing, ok?  Jeez Louise.

So anyway.  Six months old!  Halfway to being a year old!  Let me tell you what's going on with my blog lately!

I never thought that my blog would be where it is right now.  I figured that my mom and husband would read it (the latter out of obligation), and that at the very least it would be a good way for me to remember Gibson's babyhood.

At some point I realized that more people were reading my blog, and decided to join the Top Mommy Blogs website because I obviously love when people vote for me.  And also I realized that having more readers is fun!

I thought that I would get a couple votes a day, mostly from my husband and mom.  And now I'm averaging almost 300 votes each month.  Ack!  I don't even know what to do with that.

So what does that mean for the future of my blog?  Since I started getting so many votes (thank you!), I've been getting a lot of views to my blog.  I've been contacted by PR representatives to review and giveaway products, and to be a contributing writer on a new parenting website.  It's kind of overwhelming, but also really exciting!

And my favorite thing that has happened: people have been emailing me with questions about using cloth diapers!  Eek!  I seriously love that.

Don't worry, I don't want to make giveaways the focus of my blog.  Far from it!  I have only said yes to giveaways that I think mesh with my personality and the personality of my blog, and they are products that I think you guys will really like.

I would love it if you all would keep voting for me on the Top Mommy Blogs website!  It's such a good way to get my name out into the bloggy world.  It makes my heart happy when new people read my blog and learn something from it.  Or even if they read it and just laugh at my weirdness...that's good, too.

So you should be on the lookout for a couple of giveaways coming up in the next few weeks...they're fun ones!  I'm super excited about it.  It's hard for me to sleep sometimes because I compose the giveaway posts in my brain.  Weirdo.

I am incredibly thankful that the Lord has chosen to do big (well, medium-sized) things with my blog.  Like I said, I never in a million years imagined that I would be here at six months in, but I'm thrilled about it.  Writing is something that I've always loved, and I love sharing my life with all of you!

Thanks for reading and voting!  Gibson says, "How YOU doin'?"

  1. "It's hard for me to sleep sometimes because I compose the giveaway posts in my brain."

Welcome to the life of a writer! :-D I wake up in the middle of the night with leads and nut graphs dancing in my brain. It's kind of awesome how brains can just form stories even when you don't tell them to!

    1. Haha, some of my best posts were written in my dreams! I love it, except that I would really prefer to sleep and have good ideas when I'm already awake! :P

  2. All I can do is say "YAAAAAAAYYYY!" So, so happy for you, darling.

  3. Awesome!! I'm excited for what's in store!! Congratulations and keep up the great work! PS: loving that picture of Gibson, so perfect!
