The cure for cabin fever!

I'm pretty sure that winter will NEVER END this year.

I don't know whether it's because I'm not going to work everyday, or because I have a baby who can't go out in the cold to play, but this winter has been the worst.  For real.

...or it could be the massive quantities of snow and ice that have fallen upon us.  Yeah, that's probably it.  Blech.

In any case, I'm more than ready for spring.  But for now, I have to find things to do to entertain my cooped-up child.  And I've come up with the best game ever!

I plop Gibson down in the middle of the living room and go over to the wide doorway between the living room and entrance.  And then I march back and forth past the doorway while singing "Following the Leader" from Peter Pan.

Of course, I don't know all the words to "Following the Leader," so my rendition goes like this:

We're following the leader, the leader, the leader!
We're following the leader, wherever he may go!
Yo ho!  Tee hee!  Ta deedle dee dum dee day!
To to!  Kee hee!  Sma smeedle um shum tee tay!
Yo mo!  Flee hee!  Pa peedle skee skum bee ay!
Taaaaaa ta teedle tee doooo dum dahhhh duh dee ba bummmm!

And I use a different style of march every time I go past the doorway.  One time I might be skipping, and then I'm doing a grapevine, and then I'll do the running man.

Gibson LOVES IT.  He laughs and laughs...because I'm funny, not because he thinks I'm stupid.  I hope.

You're welcome for the idea!  Just make sure your neighbors can't see into your house, because I'm pretty sure mine think I'm insane.

  1. Very similar to what I do when I'm pumping gas, I make a face at one window, then duck down and move to the other side of the car and make a face there. Has them both laughing out loud, and there are definitely people who see. But I don't care, my kids are happy :)

    1. Haha! I do that when I'm pumping gas, too! Happy kids are always the goal...even if that means we look like idiots most of the time. :)
