Look over there!  ----------------->

My blog is #10!  You guys are the best.  Make sure to keep voting so I don't fall back to lowly number 11!
Remember the Ramona Quimby books?  And they had a cat named Picky-picky?  And in one book he died and I was very sad.  And Ramona had called Beezus "pizza face" earlier in the book.

...the things that stick with me from when I was young are very strange indeed.

Gibson recently went through a strange picky phase* where he wouldn't willingly eat anything that didn't look like a banana or clementine.

*On my first try, I spelled that "faze."  What on earth is wrong with me?!

So we would give him a quesadilla or peanut butter toast or whatever we were eating, and he picked around it to get the fruit.  If we put a piece of something that wasn't banana in his mouth, he spit it out immediately.  And even when we put some other food in yogurt, which he loves, he would suck the yogurt off and spit the food out!

He's an evil genius.

But all of the sudden he's not picky anymore!  Hooray!  And every new food is a favorite.  So I'm going to tell you about some of Gibson's favorite meals of late!  I love hearing what other babies eat to get ideas, so maybe this will help someone!

And even if it doesn't, at least you'll know what my child likes to eat.  Because that information may be helpful someday.  Or not.

Quesadillas: I use the small tortillas and put cheese and something else in them.  Gibson looooves this.  His favorite is a spinach and cheese quesadilla with barbecue sauce on it.  It sounds weird, but actually it's quite good!

Stir fry: Chicken, sweet peppers, and onions.  And LOTS OF GARLIC.  Yum.  And bonus!  His diapers are very colorful from the peppers the next day.

Pasta bake: I posted this recipe >here<, and it's our favorite!  Gibson can eat an entire adult*-sized serving if we let him.

*I put "human-sized" at first.  Sometimes I forget that children are actually human, too.

Hamburgers and fries: A couple nights ago Gibson ate an entire hamburger (no bun), a few baked fries, and two pickles.  The child loves meat!  Good boy.  The next step is to take him to McDonalds and get him a Big Mac!  Who wants burgers and fries at home when you can get them deep fried at a greasy restaurant?

Peanut butter and syrup toast: This sounds weird, but it's delicious!  I put peanut butter and a tiiiiiiny bit of natural maple syrup on toast, and Gibson loves it!  I actually put syrup on it one time to see if Gibson would eat it during his picky phase*, and he did!  Yay!

*I tried to write** "faze" again.  Oy vey.

**I wrote "wright" instead of "write."  WHY DOESN'T MY BRAIN WORK TODAY???

I should probably just stop this blog post while I'm ahead, because for real.  I can't spell today.

And, as promised, another of Gibson's 12 month photos!  He's such a thug.

Gibson wants everyone who hasn't entered the giveaway for some free chalkboard art to head over to >this post< and enter!  You have until the end of the day tomorrow (March 5).  DO IT.

  1. I don't remember where I saw this (was it your blog? it's possible.) but this picture is what I want to share: http://anongallery.org/8264/i-cannot-brain-today-i-has-the-dumb

Because of your writing issues today ("human-sized" was definitely my favorite.) and also because it literally makes me giggle aloud each time I look at it, which is really rare for me. If you posted it before, thanks for that joy! If you haven't seen it yet, you're welcome for that joy! Dovey!!

    1. Hahaha! I love that. And it definitely described me yesterday. And it's brand new joy for me! YAY! DOVEY BACK!
