Mr. Manners

Well, it would seem that I've done something correctly in my year as a parent.

Because Gibson is, all of the sudden, very polite!

...except for all the times he screams because I don't give him the precise thing he wants at the precise time he wants it.  Which is most of the time.

I've mentioned before that we do sign language with Gibson.  He has mostly picked up on signs that pertain to food...more, eat, milk, all done, and dog.

Not that dogs are food in our house.  *cough cough*

I've been working on teaching Gibson the signs for please and thank you for awhile, but he just didn't care.  Why ask for "more please" if you can just sign "more" and get more?

Gibson is obviously very logical.

But yesterday he started signing "please" when he wants something!  AND IT'S MY FAVORITE.

The sign for "please" is rubbing your hand in a circle on your chest.  But Gibson has his own way of doing it, of course.  He puts both his hands on his belly and rubs them around while wiggling his body.

It's so ridiculous.  And so cute.

And then today I was getting him more water, and he signed "more."  I asked him to say please, and he did his wiggle and said "Eeeeeeese!"

I died.  I DIED.  How polite is my sweet baby?????

So polite.

He's well on his way to being a prince or something.  Or at least a palace guard at Buckingham Palace.  They're polite, right?

...I have no idea.  I'm just babbling at this point.

I suppose I'll end this post now, since you're all wondering why on earth it's still going.

The moral of the story: Gibson signs and says "please," and it's very cute.
